J.C. Ryle

"When a man’s heart is cold and unconcerned about religion – when his hands are never employed in doing God’s work – when his feet are not familiar with God’s ways – when his tongue is seldom or never used in prayer and praise – when his eyes are blind to the beauty of the kingdom of heaven – when his mind is full of the world, and has no room for spiritual things – when these marks are to be found in a man the word of the Bible is the right word to use about him, and that word is, ‘Dead.’”

Beach Kings & Queens

We went to the beach at Perdido Key, Florida again this year for our vacation and had a really great time. With the longer summer this year, we went a little later than usual so the beaches were pretty quiet as all the Alabama/Florida kids had already started school. We met a lot of families from Texas though!

We were so thrilled that we saw dolphins offshore just about every day. Beth loves dolphins and she was so excited to see them! We watched them swim and jump out of the water from the balcony of our condo. There were quite a lot of them too.

The jellyfish were pretty bad this year. Beth actually got stung and barely got back into the water after that. We also saw several small stringrays that the kids (not ours) kept fishing out of the water. And, one guy caught a sand shark which the kids got to timidly "pet".

One thing we did find this year that we have never found in the five or so years we have been taking the family was sand dollars! We found about six nice ones which was a delight -- mostly small ones but those count too! And of course every night we went crab hunting with our flash lights and were not disappointed.

Hey Heaton Family,
Everyone is smiling in all the pictures.that is a sure sign you enjoyed your vacation. Knowing you as i do i can honestly say you live your lives by the word of God as your foundation. That alone describes your reason to be smiling. I admire your courage and strength to stand by your principals. Reading your thoughts on certain subjects has made me look into myself, and i realize i have grown apart from the principals i was taught to believe. Thank you for showing me a way to get back on the right path
