I don't have an open mind regarding the book "The Shack". I stand by my suggestion and pleading that professing Christians should not entertain this book.
Here is a thorough review on it:
Tim Challies Book Review of The Shack
HT: Heart For The Lost
J.C. Ryle
"When a man’s heart is cold and unconcerned about religion – when his hands are never employed in doing God’s work – when his feet are not familiar with God’s ways – when his tongue is seldom or never used in prayer and praise – when his eyes are blind to the beauty of the kingdom of heaven – when his mind is full of the world, and has no room for spiritual things – when these marks are to be found in a man the word of the Bible is the right word to use about him, and that word is, ‘Dead.’”

I couldn't agree with you more. Some women in my wife's Sunday School class were talking about how great this book was and how it's changed their lives etc... So she goes and buys it(she likes to read). Before she can get through the first chapter she puts it down and say's "I can't read anymore of this garbage".
